The US president has declared the Chinese telecoms giant 'very dangerous'
Donald Trump has declared that Huawei could be used as part of a trade deal between the US and China, despite branding the Chinese telecoms giant as “very dangerous”.
The US president’s administration added Huawei and its 70 affiliates to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Entity List last week, an index of companies and people deemed a threat to American security.
Inclusion on the list prevents US companies from selling technology to Huawei without a licence approved by the BIS, a move which could prove incredibly damaging to the company’s ability to sell its smartphones, other consumer electronic devices and equipment for use in 5G network to other countries.
