Why Elon Musk is voting for the Republican party

Since the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Elon Musk has vowed support for the Republican party and created a super PAC to fund the campaign.

While Musk's social media platform X has developed a reputation as the right-wing version of Twitter and the billionaire has increasingly combatted liberal ideology on the platform, he said in a live interview on X with Jordan B. Peterson Monday that he voted for Democratic candidates in the last three presidential elections.

Up until the shooting, Musk repeatedly said he was undecided about who to vote for, despite several meetings with Trump. The two even had a rocky relationship prior to and during Trump's presidency, with Musk openly speaking out against the former President's candidacy in 2016.
